Bailey & Slotnick, PLLC Associates Jessica Harper and Natalie Thomas are providing Back Up to the Charleston Police Department (CPD) by enrolling in the newest class of the Citizens Police Academy.

The CPD Citizen's Academy consists of a 12- week law enforcement program, which meets once a week at the Charleston Police Department Training Center. Each week, a different law enforcement topic will be presented with hands-on instruction by police officers, as well as a police ride along.

Our associates will invest their time and energy into learning about topics such as K-9 untits and SWAT teams from CPD. They will gain a better understanding of procedures, policies and laws that guide the decisions and behavior of CPD officers.

In our digital age, we often see a negative perception when it comes to the police. We believe as leaders in the field of law, it is in the best interest of our company and our clients to counter the misconceptions and learn as much as we can about our first responders and the types of situations they encounter every day. The information will better equip us to aide our clients in whatever unforeseen complications arise.
